Job Description


  • Work with business analysts to understand user and functional and non-functional requirements and business specifications.
  • Participate in product design discussions and devise testing requirements. Develop, and implement test plans and test cases in an Agile/Scrum environment. Obtain signoffs from the stakeholders.
  • Prepare and gather the test data necessary for the test execution in the QA environment. Perform manual and automated testing. Track & prioritize defects throughout product releases and lifecycles.
  • Collaborate effectively with local and remote team members including the QA leaders, project manager, developers, and business analysts.
  • Use quality control tools and metrics to discover defects and make recommendations for resolution.
  • Participate in all aspects of testing including SIT, Regression, and Load testing.
  • Help the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) team with the design of their test cases at the business level, and support the UAT team to meet their objectives.
  • Work with the Customer Support group and help in reproduction of the defects in QA, and closure.
  • Follow test documentation standards and makes updates as necessary. Ensure that content and structure of all testing documents/artifacts is documented and maintained.
  • Record and report on testing metrics. Prioritize test activities. Provide input regarding product quality.
  • Adhere to defect tracking standards, procedures, and techniques. Generate test status reports, defect reports, and participate in defect triages.
  • Work closely with the development team to ensure timely resolution of all identified problems.
  • Use QA tools to estimate QA effort QA, prior to project approval
  • Coordinate and acquire QA project resources, with assistance from QA Manager
  • Perform QA and testing strategy/phase and resource planning with project delivery team
  • Perform project cost and timeline revision with QA Manager, after requirements have been finalized & approved.
  • Review and perform impact analysis for QA on Project Change Requests.
  • Lead tasks and resource during test execution; report daily and weekly status of test execution and defect status to project team.
  • Review and sign off on SDLC gates from a QA perspective.
  • Identify areas to improve quality; works with QA Manager to implement.


  • 7+ years of software test experience with focus on web applications, databases, and test automation.
  • In depth understanding of enterprise-level software testing methods and best practices,
  • Extensive experience translating software requirements into accurate and complete test scenarios.
  • Strong experience in understanding, writing, and executing complex SQL queries. Oracle, MS, or MySQL. Create, and update tables, views, working with triggers, stored procedures. Automate testing repeatable processes.
  • For databases running over several networks and platforms, skilled in accessing information for different RDMS systems. Liaise with Development and Product teams to understand test criteria and develop testing approaches to process, capture, and analyze important backend data for business. Create concise reports, which reflect thorough testing performed.
  • Knowledge in XML web services, SOAP, WSDL.
  • Knowledge and experience with SDLC and quality methodologies.
  • Experience in automation of GUI, Webservices, and other applications, using Silk or HP Tools.
  • Web application testing tools such as Selenium. not required but highly desired.
  • Experience in Agile using tools such as Rally or Jira or ServiceNow.
  • Experienced in regression, functional, integration, risk-based, performance, and load test phases.
  • Experienced in Web Based environments (Web Sphere, Java, JavaScripts and .NET technology).
  • Knowledge of Cloud hosting platforms and services such as Amazon highly desired but not required.
  • Build, execute, and maintain automated test frameworks for end to end integration testing across applications, devices, and platforms. Highly desired but not required.


  • Billing services, pertaining to Cellular telephony/wireless services, rate plans, usage, and coverage.
  • Web Analytics – gather information, decipher detailed usage, and improve test coverage. 
  • Ecommerce and customer experience applications including product catalog, reporting, returns, order management, payment system, and provisioning. Knowledge of Hybris or other Ecommerce platform.
  • SDO processes relevant to order processing, customer care, logistics, and reports.
  • Be an advocate for quality, raise quality issues or risks to the Project Manager so they can work together to develop mitigation or action plans; escalate appropriately for resolution.
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving ability a must. MUST BE proactive, and detail oriented.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in dealing within IT and with stakeholders.
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to operate independently.
  • Demonstrated professional growth and development.
  • Delivery Focused.
