Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:   The Line Cook is responsible for the daily preparation of food items in the pantry, fry stations and/ or other areas of the kitchen as well as helping the dishwasher and cashier as needed.  This role interacts directly with customers in a cafeteria setting.





  • Prepare to order all food items, following standard recipes and procedures within specified time limits
  • Stocking of your work station.
  • Assist in an entire team effort.
  • Sets up station according to restaurant guidelines
  • Prepares all food items ads directed in a sanitary and timely manner
  • Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the cafe
  • Restocks all items as needed throughout shift
  • Cleans and maintains station in practicing good safety, sanitation, organizational skills
  • Has understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in station
  • Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas
  • Other Duties as assigned

  • Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated, and organized

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • The employee is regularly required to talk and hear
  • Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
  • Must be able speak, read and understand basic English and cooking directions




  • HS degree required
  • 2 + years’ experience in short order/restaurant BOH environment.
  • Have the ability to work assigned schedule.



  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision
  • The employee is regularly required to talk and hear
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office
