Job Description

JOBSUMMARY:  TheDeskside Support Specialist is part of the IT Infrastructure team that providesin-house technical PC hardware and software support. He or she will respond touser Incident and Request tickets.  He orshe will need to troubleshoot both over the phone and by visiting end-users attheir desks to determine the nature of the problem and take the necessarycourse of action to resolve it.  

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS

•        Responding to end-userservice requests to troubleshoot the nature of reported incidents and takingnecessary steps to resolve those issues

•        Building and configuringPCs and laptops as well as installing software, and conducting audits forunlicensed software.

•        Running infrastructurecabling between workstations and communication closets

KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

•        Knowledge of the Windows XP, Windows 7 and Windows 10 operating systems

•        Knowledge of Mac operating systems, hardware and applications isstrongly desired

•        Knowledge of Trend Micro anti-virus and anti-malware systems

•        Experience with Landesk Management Suite or other package deploymenttools

•        Experience in user and other object management within Active Directory

•        Experience with supporting Executive level end users

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

•        2 year IT degree orequivalent experience

•        Hands on experience withPC  support in a business environment, aplus
