Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

ACN DevOps Engineers are responsible for supporting ACN’s Software Development and Change Management processes, including the design and implementation of application build, release, deployment, and configuration management tools.  Additional responsibilities include planning and coordinating of application and infrastructure implementations, ensuring compliance with ACN’s change management processes, and diagnosis and remediation of operational systems issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manage technical deliverables for software releases
  • Plan and manage execution of change control activities for production implementations
  • Ensure appropriate quality steps and approvals are adhered to prior to implementations
  • Maintain and improve use of Application Lifecycle Management tools (Continuous Integration, Source Control, Deployment, etc)
  • Perform code merges and assist in resolving related issues
  • Assist in the resolution of code merge, build, release, and deployment issues
  • Setup and maintain application runtime environments (application servers, middleware, deployment tools, etc)
  • Ensure compliance with ACN change and release management procedures by 3rd party vendors and partners
  • Perform manual software builds and deployments as needed

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify areas of improvement to DevOps practices and tools
  • Implement and enhance tools to automate manual tasks
  • Champion use of ACN’s change management processes by staff and partners
  • All other duties as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Extensive experience with cloud/virtual technologies like AWS VPC and VMWare
  • Expertise in development and admin of Dockerized containers in both on-prem and AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Expertise in Java-based Build Management tools (Jenkins CI and Maven preferred)
  • Experience working with MuleSoft Anypoint a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with vendors, partners, and all levels of ACN staff
  • Solid understanding of Java/J2EE and related technologies
  • Proficient in Linux and Windows CLIs and scripting languages (bash, Javascript, Perl, PowerShell, etc)
  • Comprehensive understanding of SDLC methodologies and best practices
  • Strong git or Subversion client use and server administration experience
  • Ability to adjust to constant business change, such as new requirements, evolving goals and strategies, and emerging technologies
  • Motivated, organized, professional, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Work well under pressure/deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize work to respond to requests in a timely manner
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Development or Administration experience in the following technologies a plus: ServiceNow, SAP Hybris

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in a DevOps or Build and Release Engineer role
  • 10+ years of experience in related IT roles
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
