JOB SUMMARY:   Primary responsibilities would include assistance with the preparation of federal and state income and franchise tax returns, quarterly estimates, extensions and payments to ensure compliance with all federal and state tax statutes and regulations by properly interpreting such tax laws to minimize tax liability.   Also assist in the review of tax depreciation, reconciliation of all income tax accounts, annual provision process, forecasting, notices, weekly cash forecasts and other day-to-day functions of the tax department.


  • Quarterly reconciliation of Accounting’s Fixed Assets to Tax Fixed Assets (FAS Software) for all geographic regions, gathering information from accounting and calculating any additional depreciation (i.e. State).
  • Gather year end Federal and State Depreciation reports in which all state bonus adjustments are also calculated
  • Monthly income tax account reconciliations
  • Prepares company federal income tax returns including international informational reporting (5471’s and 8858).  Gather data, bridge trial balances, calculate M-1’s, enter data into tax software, and produce the tax return for upper level review
  • Prepares company state income and franchise tax returns.  Calculate state adjustments, enter data into tax software and produce tax returns for upper level review
  • Assist in the calculating and filing of federal and state estimated tax payments
  • Maintain work papers used in preparing returns and estimated income taxes
  • Assist in the preparation of the tax provision as required for the annual audited financial statements, monthly entries in accordance with FAS 109, and maintain workpapers used in accounting for income taxes
  • Forecast income and franchise taxes for budget purposes.
  • Responsible for gathering data, submitting data to outside vendors on a timely basis to ensure timely completion of Canadian Tax Returns
  • Prepare for Tax Audits as related to income tax and correspond with Tax Authorities as needed
  • Tax research

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience
  • 1-2 years in public accounting or a corporate tax department
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office:  Excel and Word
  • Preferred experience using Sage (FAS) Depreciation, RIA research tools and/or PeopleSoft
